Important Notes for Using Transmission in Chengdu

When starting the engine, place the gearshift lever in Park (P) or Neutral (N), press the brake pedal, and engage the parking brake to prevent accidents.

When starting the vehicle, first shift the gear selector to the correct position before pressing the accelerator pedal. Avoid pressing it too forcefully; instead, apply it gradually. Otherwise, it may accelerate wear on automatic transmission components such as clutches and brakes, and in severe cases, could cause catastrophic damage to parts.

While driving, avoid flooring the accelerator unless absolutely necessary. Doing so triggers an immediate forced downshift (forced downshift), which can cause excessive engine RPM. This increases wear on the automatic transmission's friction components and raises ATF temperature, adversely affecting transmission performance.

When driving, especially at high speeds, avoid coasting in neutral (N). This can easily burn out the transmission because the transmission output shaft spins at high speeds while the engine idles. The ATF pump fails to supply sufficient oil, leading to poor lubrication and transmission damage. Some drivers coast in neutral to save fuel, but this practice ultimately costs more than it saves.

When overtaking, drivers often press the accelerator pedal aggressively to utilize forced downshiftingfor enhanced acceleration. However, it is crucial to release the accelerator pedal immediately once the desired acceleration is achieved. Failure to do so adversely affects the fluid and friction components of the automatic transmission.
